Did you ever do this writeup? I would love to get a copy of it, even if you don't post it cause of allt he naysayers

BTW I thought I saw your name on t4r.org.... talked about making your own kick panel pods. I was doing the SAME THING while I do the alarm. So any info you can give me on either mod would help me out tremendously

My email is Justins311 at hotmail.com if you can offer any help. Thanks!

The problem is that a 'standard' kill switch can be found in under 40 seconds. I actually timed how fast they are located. The problem is that simple kills must be in physical reach. Terrible requirement.

So I actually designed a professional electronic kill switch because none are available at any auto store. It should work with nearly any type sensor even movement detect. I ordered parts for a 'prototype'.

The difference is that the 'switch' is completely stealth. The only way a crook could find it is remove ALL interior panels: doors, console, ceiling, dashboard, seats, carpet etc. Fine line 'tween a pro kill switch and an actual alarm, just a few more parts. lol

But a reliable kill switch should take hours to locate, not just 40 seconds.

kill switch sucks

I just recently bought a 1988 4runner with an alarm system on it which also has a kill switch. I located the kill switch with 30mins having no clue where to look at all and not having any experence on stealing a car. The alarm system it has on it I was extremely impressed with its a Vandal Alerm which is a passive system but can be ajusted to different amount of movement viberation before it goes off. There is a pager option that I don't have but would like to that alerts you when the alarm goes off. It also ties up all the wires to make it hard to hot wire and if any are tampered with the alarm will go off.
