Thinking of blacking out....Opinions?
#21
I love the blacked out look (speaking in general here). Now in the case of the photochopped pic you posted, I personally think it's a tad much. Like someone else said, I'd eliminate the chrome bumpers, trim, etc. before I went to that extreme on the front end. You just might be satisfied with going that far. I'm a specialist in de-chroming and carry lots of products to de-bling, so let me know if I can help.

it dosent effect the visibility or functionality of the lights at all anymore coats probaly would have but thats fine and its pitch black. just as black as covers except u dont have to take them off!

Not only should you be concerned with the extra attention from the popo, but if your insurance company discovers the blacked out lights your policy and coverage maybe canceled. I had a friend that got into an accident with his accord and he had aftermarket black out covers on the tail lights and head lights. His insurance refused to cover his claim and the other driver's claim due to the illegal modifications. He got sued by the other driver and lost because of the illegal covers.
IMO I think blacking out the chrome would look better.

well i checked with the cops first about it and in jersey COVERS are illegal on headlights not tail lights but smoking out ur lights isnt, you can buy aftermarket lights that already have smoked housing and lenses and its legal some states might be really gay like refusing to insure u because of that but jersey dosent... sucks for tht kid and im going to eventualy black out the grill but get rid of the valence and bumber and get a stinger front bumper

since you're asking for opinions...
with your white and chrome truck, i'd suggest clear signals and markers, with clear taillights as well. go all the way with the chrome bulbs that flash orange.
otherwise, you plan to black out all the chrome on the truck? i usually think only red, silver, and black vehicles look improved with a black out treatment.
think it over man. you might want to spend your time tricking out something else. blacking Hellas and headlights, to me seems like lifting 3" but then putting on low rider rims and tires. kinda counterproductive
and the lights? really? blacking your hellas seems like putting on 33s then lowering your truck. kinda counterproductive.
red, silver, and black vehicles look good with a full black out treatment. i would spend time enhancing your truck in another way.
since you already have the chrome, how 'bout going for clear signals and tails? add to the chrome.

re thinking of blacking out
I 'd spread some mattresses on the floor first...
I crack me up...
IK it's not the answer you were looking for but I saw the title in NP and could'nt resist...
Blackout can look good on all white trucks but bear in mind your lights will be harder to see especially in daylight and might be a contributing factor in any accident that may occur.
Also the cops may hassle you a bit more as well...
