I've never seen a clear explanation on this ... From what I gather the Sport suspension (being intended for street use) uses softer Bilsteins and is generally 'softer' than the Off Road version.

I called the TRD hotline (1-800-688-5912) and they pretty much told me the same thing. Was just wondering if there was a difference in the springs; etc. They make a 2009 Double cab 4x4 with the locked differential;Trd off road tuned suspension in a short bed only! I wanted the long bed but they don't make it with the locked rear end, only limited slip differential. They call it TRD Sport Suspension with Bilstein shocks. Thanks for the reply.

Just for the record ... Effective with the 2009 model year, the 'LSD' available with TRD Sport Packages is *NOT* a true mechanical limited slip differential (as in prior years starting with 2005), but the 'Auto LSD' feature (which is a mislabeled brake-manipulating system intended to simulate some behaviors of a true LSD to aid in traction control). This 'Auto LSD' feature was previously bundled with certain of the VSC/TRAC options.
