toyo a/t 31/10.50 all the way. great tires no hydro plaining and work good for trail stuff. I have done some light trail stuff and they work really well haven't gotten stuck yet. not saying much but they work great on and off road. My dad has them on his f-250 and he barely ever used chains when we had all the snow and ice we had this past January in Seattle. And he has 2wd. great tires highly recommend them.

I may nix the firestone idea and look into toyos or pirellis or maybe even another set of revos if I can get a good deal.

I'm probably going to get laughed off of the board for this one, but I have always had good luck with the Uniroyal Liberators from Wal-Mart for a cheap AT tire. I was lucky enough to have purchased my last set before they changed the way they do the road hazard protection. It came in real handy when I had been out wheeling and gotten a flat due to bottles, sticks, etc. If I remember right, they aren't but like $70 a tire, and they have the 50k mileage warranty on them also.

BFG A/Ts have last the longest of any AT I've used.

if you do ANY mudding, don't waste a dime on AT's. Get some inexpensive mud tires, like something from mastercraft or something. AT's

In the mud. Or basically in anything except sand and hard packed dirt. That clay/sand mix all over GA/FL sucks with AT's.

Right now i use the BFG all terrain. But my driving is 25% off and 75% on, if you are looking for a good tire that will last a long time, the Pro Comp All Terrain gets my vote, Had those on an old ford ranger, and went everywhere my buddy with the BFG's went.

Are the A/T's better or worse on snow/ice than the M/T's?

BFG A/T's...I've had a set on my truck, they've lasted me 35,000 and I'll probably get at least another 10,000 miles out of them.

I think that the M/T's would be worse in ice. But i guess i never have owned any mud tires, mostly because they wear out to fast for my type of driving. I think A/T's are a good choice simply because there is more rubber to contact the Ground/Ice. Who knows though. I am not a tire expert...

I'm willing to bet they're worse in snow because the lugs are too close, not enough void to expel the snow. As for ice, no tire is going to do as well as one with chains or studs, period.

Depends on the kind and depth of the snow. Wet snow is kinda like sand, and AT's work awesome. Dry, fluffy, deep snow, MT's work better.

As for ice, generally AT's will blow MT's away because of siping, but neither of those holds a candle to a true winter tire.

I used to run BFG muds on the 94 truck I had. Good in mud but sucked in the rain. I knew that going into it though. At that time I had a car as a third vehicle that I could use when it rained.

The procomps look good but I dont know about their wet weather performance. That takes first place over any other performance indicators. Ive had Michelin ltx at before and really, compaired to the Revos I just had, the revos handled the rain so much better. Just wish they were less cost.

dude if your gonna be in GA mud/clay do not get an a/t get a cheap mud tire and have them siped. GA mud is way too sticky, i lived /wheeled there for 5 years, and tried the BFG a/t, perilli scorpion, and sport king, they all sucked in any mud esp in GA.

I will just have to stay out of the mud for now. I took the plunge. I will be getting the FS Dest. AT after all. Local tire shop cut a very good deal. Getting them on tomorrow.

New tires on. I chose the FS destination AT in size 31X10.5x15 I dont have them balanced yet. I go to another shop that does it on the car. Theres no weights on the rims and the tires run suprisingly smooth. Very little if any vibration.

I did have to retorque the lug nuts. Some I had to stand and bounce on, some were just finger tight. Go figure.

Anyway, so far I notice more chirp sounds from them than the Revos on the dry. They do ride soft. They were aired to 44 pounds but felt like no more than 30 to 35. More later.
