Need true size of 35" tires

Can you all please measure your 35" tires for me (horizontal) and post the brand and true measurement of them. I want to get 35's but I also hunt in a wildlife management area that only allows 17" from outside tire to center of hub. I checked a couple of tire specs but there is nothing better than getting first hand info from you guys.

Thanks

This measurment varies A LOT between tires and brands. My suggestion would be to look on the BFG, Interco, and Bridgestone websites, you should be able to find actual measurements for the tire's height.

Since 17" from tire tread to hub is only 34", my guess would be your best bet would be a BFG A/T as they tend to run a bit under the 35" size, but swampers tend to run over in size, and I don't even know about Bridgestones so...

Edit: well, even the BFG A/T's are 34.7" tall... Sounds like you need to stick with 33's or possibly a 34 if you can find one...
I've looked around and haven't seen a single 35 that's under 34" total height... I mean, are you REALLY going to 35's if you need it to really be a big 33?

I think the tire store can look up that info for you. I know my 33" BFG mud-t were right at 33" when new, but keep in mind with about 1" of tread on a mud tire a true 35 will turn into a 33 when it gets worn down.

BFG M/T's are 34.7, but only 33.7 on the rolling radius... are they measuring the top half or bottom half... just have less airpressure, and a 35 will work.

Thanks AH64ID . They measure from the out side tire to center of the hus right to left. <_____hub___> not up and down . I think I my be able to get away with 35's that's why I would like some true measurements from people that have them on there truck. I know what the specs say but I am with you on the fact that they are smaller on a rolling radius. They will not give me a ticket just because the tire reads 35x12.50x15 (at least I do not think so) but they will pull out a tape measure if you give them a reason to.

Cant measure mine, but I bet your over measuring that way... why not just limit tire size by tire sizes?

I would go with a large 33, like a SSR.. or a 295/75/16

The "rolling radius" will only help you if the measurement is taken from the bottom of the tire to the hub, since the vehicle is squishing the tire down some. If they measure side to side, unless you tire is significantly worn you're caught (on a 35" BFG A/T, you'd have to have worn down 11/32" all around, leaving a bald 6/32" of tread A/T). It really depends on how strict they are about such things.

The specs will be an accurate representation of the new tire's dimensions; it's worn tires that end up being smaller. As I said before, you "want to go to 35's," but are you really gaining anything over a 33 or 34 if it has to be a "small" 35?
