Look what i found! underneath my valve cover

so this is what i found today underneath my valve cover on my 84 22r, the whole reason i even looked was because whenever i would get on a steep incline the truck would smoke like crazy it looked like fog on the trails then i would level out and it would be ok, so when i got home i put on a new pcv i was told this was a common problem. just for good measure i checked some forums and i heard of some people getting oil passages blocked. so from there i just decided to pull the valve cover and it was stuck down the rear oil passage. so level ground was ok because the front was not blocked, on the incline all of the oil would pool up in the vc and get sucked through seals and guides because of the vacuum. I think it might have been holding a valve just a little open to, it is so much quieter and smoother running i am just glad i found what was wrong before engine meltdown occured and now the only thing i can think is how in the heck did it get there its to big to fall down the oil cap, breather, and pcv valve, it looks like it used to be a mount for the air cleaner that broke and someone replaced there is a new on the topside of the valve cover broke in the same way, some tool must have been working on this thing before i got it, i got it for 800 so im not complaining to much , just happy i found it
