Lexus RX400h

My folks are looking for a new SUV, and were interested in the RX400h. Any of you ridden/driven one? How is it?

One of my friends told me that the ride was somewhat harsh for an SUV. Is this true?

Gotta love that 31/27 MPG.

Thanks for any inputs.

I personally don't have an answer for you, but you can check the link below and ask your question there.

Very powerfull, smooth acceleration
here's the deal:
if you do mostly highway driving its not worth it, by an all gas RX350
if you do mostly start stop driving its great, the batterys are recharged by regnerative braking and thats why city mileage is better than highway, the gas is more efficient on the long road.
the warranty battery/charging system on the RX400h is 8yr 100k miles vs the rx350 6yr 70k mile drivetrain warranty. (the gas part of the RX400h has the same 6/70)
they ride very nice, it is an SUV.

I've driven a few and its kind of odd when the motor turns on and your already moving and its very quiet.

you might even qualify for a tax break for alternative fueled vehicles

Thanks for the inputs.

I also forgot to mention--they live in the out skirts of town, where there are lots of dirt roads and during the winter time, the snow stays on the ground throughout the season. The snow, I'm not too worried about, but the bumps and jolts from the dirt roads is what worries me a little about the ride quality. They will be doing mostly around town stuff, but since they're about 2-3 hours from a major city, they'll be going on the highway, as well. They have an Acura MDX currently, which gets about 23MPG. I told them about the Hybrids and they got really interested in it.

I guess I'll call around to the dealerships around here to see if they have any in.

Thanks again.
