K&N reusable washable SS oil filter
Any thoughts on this item. I know its expensive, I think 200$ plus. OK I figure I have changed my oil 92 times,#-. so to get one this late in the game would be useless,,, yada yada yada,, your thoughts.

I can see using a K&N air filter, but a K&N oil filter seems like a waste of money to me.
A good quality oil filter is just as good and a lot less money.

My question is...what do the words "Stainless Steel Micro-Screen Filtration" translate to in terms of actual filtering efficiency. By which I mean its ability to remove contaminants from the oil. And not its ability to flow the oil through at a higher rate/with less restriction. Because those two characteristics, generally speaking, don't go hand-in-hand. Usually, the more you have of one, the less you have of the other. Give and take. If you catch my drift...

Reusable filters
I've used one of these since my 30k mile oil change.

I know the level of filtration is very high due to the fact that I can see the oil pressure dropping after 2k miles and I can physically see the black deposit on the screen. I use Amsoil and change it every 10 - 12k miles.

A friend of mine got a sample one of these through his work place. He had nothing but good things to say.
Also, the threaded insert can be changed out, so this could be used with many different vehicles. I'm very seriously considering one for my next oil change on my Celica.

My motor cost $10,000.00 and I put the best into it I run a System 1 SS oil filter in my truck and I would never go back to a cartridge filter. The engine, oil cooler and filter are all balanced to provide the proper oil pressure and you can not do that with a cartridge filter. On a daily driver you can find out whats happening inside your motor when you clean the SS filter.

Well I kind of see it as a money saver. I have spent say 500 bucks on oil filters. If this product was available in 1987 I may have considered it. I have no doubts it filter as well or better than a stock toyota filter. My .02
