Johnny vs. Ballistic Joints
Have anyone used any of Currie Johnny Joints or Ballistic Fabrication Joints?
Which one is better? Which one would be preferable for suspension build? What about reliability and easy of maintenance, availability of parts?
2.5" Forged Johnny Joint --- $40
2.63" Forged Ballistic Joint --- $46

I have johnny joints on both ends of my links.
In terms of performance, they are very similar - the bushings, ball etc are almost identical. The big difference is the johnny joint uses a snap ring, and the ballistic threads in for preload.
Getting the johhny joints back together is pretty tough, although building a "tool" to compress them is relatively easy, and when the snap ring is seated, the preload is right. Not sure how you do it on the Ballistic joints.
If I had it to do over, I would use johnny joints on the frame end and rubber bushings on the axle end.
