To DNJ Parts or not to DNJ Parts...That is the question
I received my top end kit Friday and they are DNJ parts. Timing cover, chain, guides, oil pump, seals, blah blah blah. I dont have any previous experience with DNJ but ive had bad experiences with other made in China parts. How many on YT have used these? Thanks in advance!
P.S. its for my 89 4runner 22re

It is certainly possible to find genuine Japanese engine parts at good prices if you shop around,
I won't by chinese slave labor goods, regardless of their supposed good quality.

I will call them tomorrow and see if he has an "upgrade" on these parts. I hate to have the truck down for another week but certainly dont want to put bad parts in it.
I thought there would be some responses of DNJ users from Ted at engnbldr but maybe this is new distribution

I am not trying to badmouth DNJ parts, or anyone who supplies them , for all I know, they are as good as any other parts.
My objections to chinese goods are philosophical and political. The chinese system is compulsive, and not freedom based.
I find no fault with foreign made goods that come from countries with a high standard of living, and high environmental standards.
Goods made in such countries compete fairly with our own industries, and their people are able to live decent lives.
The chinese,,,, not so much.

I have used DNJ in the past and had good luck with them. There are some part store parts that I have used and had great luck with as well. I know several say to use a Toyota head gasket. I use other American made gaskets and never any problems with them either. Ted has a great reputation and I am not knocking him, but I have found better prices by shopping around. I still dont like seeing parts from China.
I will say I have a aftermarket fender that is from Taiwan and it is truly a better built fender then what Toyota sells. It is a CAPA certified replacement fender so my attitude is changing on some places that parts come from.

I spoke to the folks at engnbldr today. They stand behind and are currently using the DNJ parts. I asked if a part failed would they cover my labor but didnt really get a serious response.

Robb I agree as far as engnbldr being a good shop. I've always had good experiences with them. Looks like I'm sending my head/purchasing a new one from them since the po wallered out the spark plug threads.
