Daily Driver Buildup?
This is a strange question, so it'll be interesting seeing what kind of replies I get. I own a 1992 toyota pickup v6 manual transmission 4wd w/ IFS. It's my daily driver although I'm slowly but surely turning it into something I can take on more than just muddy fireroads. sidenote: it's more "slowly" than "surely." full time student+part time worker=only so much you can do.
My next project, once I get the money saved, is an SAS, followed by increased wheel size, rock sliders, dual pipe bumper w/ stinger. There's more to come but that's all I've officially thought out.
SO! My question is, at what point did your rig become your offroad only vehicle? Being that this is my daily driver, gas mileage as well as on road driving play a big factor. When will it become to much to handle, and what projects should I avoid until I have something else to be a commuter and my rig can become fully offroad worthy? Please voice your opinion for this 4x4 newbie.
I apologize if this doesn't make any sense at all

The point my first gen became "the wheeler" is when i could afford something more fuel efficient.
It started out i had a 99 dodge ram that i was daily driving, but got 8 mpg. It quickly ended up me DDing my yota because it got 20. ending up selling it and getting a GSX eclipse.
I still had a blast driving my toyota daily for awhile except it didnt have a heater.
i think it really comes down to being able to afford a daily driver, or just get selectable lockers and keep the tires under the fenders and drive it daily anyway.
but as your going now dont go for a sas first. stuff some mud tires under it and a locker in the rear, you can get pretty far for IFS. Check out Rattlewagon's build.

It may be different in california but in oregon vehicles dont get "inspected" they just have to pass smog unless they are 20 years or older in which they are exempt.
