Bed liner in a can question?

When I bought my 85 4runner 6 years ago it had horrible shag like carpet in it, so I ripped it out and bought some bed liner stuff from napa and rolled it in. I did not do it thick enough and it has cracked in places and them my master cly decided to leak and it removed a good chunk of it for me. I do not have the money to go get a profesional job done but I was wondering if I could roll more on over the top of the exsisting stuff? Has anyone attemped this and how did it turn out?

Just make sure to prep the surface. I did that back of my truck with that stuff, it chipped, I reapplied. I think that's just the nature of that stuff. It's cheap.

How did you prep the surface, I was just going to clean it good and then rough it up with a wire brush.

If its the duplicolor stuff, you have to wash down the surface with dish soap and water(dawn), wipe it down with wax and grease remover(qt15250 is the napa number) and finally sand with a coarse sand paper (220 grit). Where the brake fluid leaked out youll have to really clean it good, then sand the hell out of it because brake fluid lifts paint and also absorbs into paint and metal and makes it impossible to get anything to stick to it unless its super clean
