Battery Mount . . . A job for POR 15?
Does this warrant experimenting with my new POR 15 kit?
Before sanding:
After sanding:
It's either the POR 15 or Rustoleum Professional if I go with stock on hand. My new WabFab Optima Mount goes on top of this.

I know you said stock on hand, but what about finding just a little bit of Line-X, or such? I'm pretty sure most of the bed liner stuff is supposed to be chemical resistant.
Just a thought.

I went ahead and used the POR-15 kit I had. I gave it the full 3 step treatment with the Marine Clean, Metal Prep, and two coats of POR-15 grey. With the Optima battery I'm sure I won't have the leaking acid, corrosion, and rust problems of the past. But, at least I won't worry about losing any more metal under the battery for awhile.
