What have I gotten myself into, I can't keep her running!

nice truck. mechanical fuel pump i assume? if you have compressed air you can give the line to the gas tank a shot with the gas cap off to make sure it is not plugged, listen for bubbles.. did you bench bleed the master cyl? bleed out ok? details...and welcome to yotatech. i have an integra as my dd and my yota is a black 88 efi. when you get it squared away it should be as dependable as the acura and your dad can ride with you when it snows...lol.
Nice Treyota!
I went to go remove the bed so I can further check the fuel lines, after removing the first 6 bolts. The last 2 keep spinning on the bed tower thingy. I'm just going to cut it off tomorrow and weld them back together.

Tearless, sounds like you're making good progress!
This is how mine started. This was about a year and a half ago. It was trashed! Had been sitting since '01!

she runs!!!!
It's been raining the past few days, so I've just now gotten around to removing the bed, replacing the fuel filter, and fuel pump. I shot compressed air through the line and it was all clear. Installed the filter and new fuel pump, and after a few cranks she fired right up!
The transmission is still stuck in gear though. The clutch works fine, looks like the slave has full movement. The shifter is extremely loose. I'm not sure if it is normal or not.
I have not "rocked" the truck back and forth yet, drive shafts still disconnected.
Things to do:
Change oil
Top off coolant
Replace brakes
Fix/replace trans
Cut out rusted floor board
Por15 frame
Alignment
...
Drive?

Nice! That trans has got me confused. Maybe get it started and see if yo can get the engine to turn that trans...? Or get another truck to push you to break it loose. Good job on gettin' her fired up! Send some pics!

good to hear she's alive..lol. the trans sounds like maybe shifter problem? idk. you can pull the shifter from inside the cab and check it out. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123...umbers-102344/ here is a link to fsm. i have found service manual for my 88 pu. here is another link to yota salvage yards https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123...-yards-149035/ hope it helps. your teg looks like mine, same color, less two doors and a little nicer. got mine cheap though. lowered they will rail corners and gets 32 mpg. nice car. just did timing belt/water pump. ready to get after my yota engine swap...
