Need advice about water pump test and cause of hard start on 94 4Runner
I am new on this forum.. How cool that anyone takes time to answer these questions!! I have found answers on this site to keep my 94 4Runner going twice now without signing up. but now I signed upI rolled my first 94 4Runner with a tip top engine so I bought another that had a blown head gasket with the intent of swapping motors. Before I dove into that, I used block seal and it fixed it for over a year. The other day The symptoms (white smoke, coolant in oil and out exaust) returned with a new one. Now it is hard to start - intermittantly -I can hear the starter TRY to crank the engine (it does not click it surges then stops) so I kinda know it's not the solenoid. When it doesn't fire right up, I can still get it started by repeatedly hitting the ignition and after a few trys it cranks right up. Once started it seems to start easily again but if I let it sit AT ALL it seems to jam? regardless of whether the engine is warm or not.Anyway I want to re-treat it with the block seal again (trying to put off engine swap) but I am not SURE that my water pump functions right.I can feel the top radiator hose warm up and when I squeeze it I feel water going through (or perhaps I just feel it boiling up) how strongly should the water be flowing there? I certainly don't want to add block seal to my system if it isn't flowing through right?Any tips greatly appreciated. sorry I wasn't more brief, I didn't have time to shorten my postBTW V6 3.0 engine

3.0 ewwww . Well, It's probably hard to start because the coolant is mixing with the fuel in the combustion chamber . If it were me I wouldn't use anymore of the block seal because I think too much of it can clog the radiator ... every where in the cooling symptom ,in my opinion. Might be time for a new head gasket .
