Half shaft from cardone?
I've done alot of reading and can't seem to find the answer. Are the half shafts for driver and pass side identical on an 86 4x4 5spd base turbo? On carpart.com they have same stock number but before I go ordering stuff I wanted to ask. Sorry for being a newb.

no need to apologize for being a n00b...
Are you needing just the shaft? Or the whole axle, CV's and all?
And yes, they're the same... The T100's have a longer shaft, but have the exact CV as a Mini.
If you need the whole thing I STRONGLY suggest you go get some salvage or off a parts truck... Very few things for a Toyota are better than OEM...
Actually, nothing is. For a stock unmolested rig, OEM parts are the best you'll find to put back on it...

Dude, unless you're in Siberia, I think you can do better than $180 + shipping + waiting...

You got a Craigslist, GoLSN or Pull-a-Part near by, Secret Agent?
And RTE is part time 4WD, so how in the world do you need a whole axle?
What'd you do to yours?
Epic truck BTW... I'll get mine (RTE, R151f) going some day...
It'll look good next to my RTE 4Runer

I just bought the truck and it has very bad axles. I can't drive it in 4wd because of it. Makes like its gonna break even at 3MPH. Both boots are ripped up on both sides of the truck and I just assume replace the whole thing. And I hadn't looked into shipping costs but they are listed at like 57 eah for remans. I will look into to scrap yards here in town and see but i've always been one to just buy new. rather than do the work twice and get used parts. I think your advice makes sense though on toyota oem being better than am.
