greasing drive shaft
#2
The "zerk" fittings are located at the joints of the driveshaft(s)
Crawl under the truck and locate where the driveshaft exits the transmission. There will be a u-joint there and inside this joint will be a zerk fitting. Also, mid-way down, another joint, another zerk. And where the shaft goes into the rear diff, another joint, another zerk.
For 4WD, look for the same thing from the transfer case forward.
You will need a grease gun, grease and a standard size grease tip for the zerk fittings.

If you have a thumping noise, simply greasing will probably NOT take care of the problem. The first question I would be asking is WHY is there a thumping noise. Chances are it could be the need of a new u-joint. Greasing a worn u-joint will not fix your problem.
