Is it good for SAS?

So with my second IFS Yota on the way i pretty much know i wanna end up with something on 35" or 37" with a SAS and the usual all pro stuff but is this a good start?

If not could someone please guide me in a direction where i can get a good str8 axle to start off with. I plan on just getting all the parts and taking it to a 4x4 shop around here because i dont know how to weld and i dont have a garage to do it in

Yes this axle will work. 84-85 axles have some extra gusseting that make the whole thing stronger, but you can always get aftermarket gussetts. On the other hand, from the photo, it looks like the drag link on that axle is bent. I would look for another one since you don't know how the damage occured, and there might be other problem spots.

I would check sources like craigslist
here is one for $300 http://portland.craigslist.org/grg/pts/1070704186.html
here is front and rear axles for $400 http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/pts/1068212777.html

That axle you posted from ebay is listed by a Yotatech member jbm715 that seems to make most of his posts in the For Sale section
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f108...-u-4x4-138268/

--he lists that axle as complete, but from the ebay picture it is clearly missing the DS hub.
If it an '81 the axle truss will go from the pumpkin over to the DS spring pad.

it would work for an SAS but seems that you might be able to find one a little cheaper and possibly in better shape. No matter what you find it would be wise to go through it and rebuild it before you mount it..
