Compatible Parts?
I just purchased a 1991 SR5 4x4 pickup with the 3.0/5M. It runs great and is out getting it's mechanical inspection for safety.
I also have a 1991 2 door Runner with the 22RE/5M. The Runner was bought last year to fix up to be my daily drive and we pulled the motor, got the head done and would have been putting it all back together, but the body is really rough and it would be more expensive to fix than the new truck.
So, are there any compatible parts from the Runner to the Pickup? I'm thinking tranny/transfer, gears, interior parts, trim stuff. Looks like the front bumper will swap. Also, what would the factory gear ratio be on the pick-up vs the runner and could they be swapped?
The runner will either be pulled apart and parted since no one wants buy it as is. The motor will be available seperately.
Also, this is a southern truck brought to Cananda by a previous owner, no rust, no mud in the frame, etc. Any difference between US and Canuck trucks other than the gauge cluster?
Thanks
Karin

Differences between the truck and runner... The front IFS is identical, and the rear axle will swap over, but the 4cly is weaker than the 6cyl.
Nothing engine/tranny/wiring harness will swap over.
This site will tell show you how to tell what gears they came with. http://www.brian894x4.com/Gearratiosanddiffs.html

Looks more like the Runner will mostly be parted out. Already selling bits and pieces and cheap. Tranny/clutch/pressure plate for $150!
Differences noted already is the truck is 4 pinion, runner is 2 pinion. Likely only keep the actual gears if we don't sell them, although we would like to downgrade to highway gears to try to improve fuel economy. Selling the alloys and 31's from the truck, swapping on the oe alloys and new 235/75R15's from the Runner.
The Carr light bar and Hella lights are for sale too.
The pickup is in amazing shape, no bondo in it anywhere.
At some point the auto hubs were swapped out for Manual Toyota hubs, so will start searching the site to see the actual process and assess if it was done properly.
Thanks for the input!

Alright, done some reading on the IFS and ADD non ADD and manual hubs et al.
From what I can tell, the Runner has ADD, the Pickup does not. They are both 91's. The Runner has no front hubs, the Pickup are manual.
Photo's tell it best.
