Chirping noise coming from clutch
I've got an 89 v6 pickup, and after I got the clutch replaced, Toyota gave back the truck, and I noticed that there was a slight high pitched noise, almost like a 'chirp' that comes from what seems to be the clutch.
It doesn't make a difference if the truck is in gear or idling, the noise is constant when the clutch is fully released. The noise goes away if i depress the clutch even the slightest amount.
Upon noticing this noise I brought my truck back to the dealership and was informed that the noise is not causing any mechanical issues, and it may go away on its own.
Well the noise has not gone away. I have been hearing it for about a year and a half. I know it's not a big deal, but i would just like to get rid of the noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an 89 4Runner with the origional clutch and it has been doing that since I got it 3 years ago. It comes and goes, but it is there much more often than not. I think I read something about fixing it, but I was unable to find it through the Seach.
I'd be really interested if anyone has any suggestions.

Thats a either a throwout bearing or a pilot bearing. I had the same thing on my 99 4runner.

Mine does the EXACT same thing. We finally tracked it down to the release fork had rusted and now chirps on the bearing. I usually shoot it with some lithium grease every few weeks.
