Buy Wrecked GMC 4x4? for swap into 88 runner
I did a little searching but, need to act fast. My brother in law just wrecked his 96 GMC 4x4 truck, and says it's totaled. I haven't seen it yet but depending on the condition of the truck. I'm thinking of buying the whole thing and swapping pretty much everything from engine to the brakes, into my 88 runner roller. 350 engine is a fairly new crate products, 25K miles? Unknown auto trans.
This will be our big bear around town and trail rig. nothing fancy at all. I've swapped motors on another car, just pulled one and dropped the other in, and I have a friend that is pretty handy with a welder. What am I getting myself into? What else would I need to buy?
Please no flaming, I know this could all be found with searching, but I'm in a bit of a hurry. Thanks in advance for all helpful info.

check out www.advanceadapters.com for swap parts. Or just fab all the stuff up yourself.
The vortec 350 is a great motor.

just like you said, pull motor and put it in new truck. that simple.
really it wouldn't be that hard, just a bunch of wire running and a few cut and welds. take your time and dont rig it. then youll be rollin hard!
