89 4runner more leg room
I just started driving my 89 4runner I picked up last summer. I am 6'1 and feel kinda cramped in the little Toyota. I just had to make it better. So I removed the drivers seat last night and inspected the tracks, the seat slides on very close-lee. So I found there were three notches left on the adjustment for the seat to move back. Just the seat seemed to stop before being able to use those last adjustments. Finally I saw the rollers were running into a pressed dimple in the tracks. That is when I knew it was time to bust out the drill. I was able to drill the track closest to the door with the seat cushion in place. But when I went to drill the other side I did have to remove the bottom cushion. Very easy to remove, and I should of taking it out first just four bolts. You will have to be careful because the track is kinda of covered up with a second very thin piece of metal and it is a little hard to see the dimple in the track just about 1/16 of an inch below. I know I should of taking pictures last night, to late now the the seat is all back together now. But it was all very easy and did not take up that much time. It may not sound like much but 1 inch of more leg room is a huge plus. I could not get the seat to go the very last notch. That would of been another 1/2 inch.

i'm 6ft...and the leg room in my 86 pickup was perfectly fine, even with a big sub box in the back of the ext. cab...even better whenever i got a slim box
you could always fab up custom mounts and move the seat back however far you want it lol

I think if the seat was moved back any more then about a half inch I would also have to move the shifter back.
