3vze Timing is way advanced

The timing is advanced about 30 degrees and runs poorly. If you turn the dist. it will almost make it to the stock 10 degrees but will run extremly bad. When throttle is applied the timing retards instead of advancing. Leaving the dist. at 30 degerees till I figure out what to do.

Thanks guys the site is awesome and for any responses that I get.

maybe pull it and bring it back a tooth. It may be retarding on throttle because the computer is saving the motor. This may be dumb, but make sure your timing light is on the right spark wire, and all the wires are routed correctly...ive messed em up before

Thanks jpmountainboy, thats what I thought from other threads but the timing retarding thing was throwing me off. So we pulled the dist. and turned it back a tooth and it has a lot more power but is still aways from stock settings and continues to retard under throttle. That may because off the code 52 (knock sensor) has a bad wire connection and the computer is taking over. Will make more adjustments later but had to go for a late night mountain mud trip last night. Went well till the tranny cooler line off the radiator got pulled off and lost enough fluid for the tranny to stop working. Luckly we spotted it soon and had plenty of spare atf fluid with us to get home.

Thanks again
