I've got a 1999 Toyota 4Runner and I've been lookin into this for a while. I've finally decided to get the 20" version of the "XD Series Hoss Black 795" wheels but I'm looking for tires to fit it. Preferably some mud tires but an aggressive all terrains will be fine to. I'm lifting it 2" within the next couple weeks so 33's shouldn't be a problem right? My question is... any suggestions on where the heck do I find some 33's that are gonna fit these 20's (20x9 offset 18) I might just have to end up sticking with 31's. Money isn't too big of an issue here but im not spending over 3.5k so any suggestions I would love to here. Anyone have a setup like what I'm wanting?

Nitto makes the Terra Grappler and Mud Grappler in a 285/50R20 that will fit but those are only 31's. Thanks for any help

i recommend the Nitto Mud Grapplers, they look wicked and perform nicely.

I think 20" wheels and 31" tires will make it look loke a street queen, but if thats what youre going for then go for it.

Check out Toyo tires. They make a few for a 20" wheel.

You might want to consider a bigger lift to. My girlfreinds 99 has a 3" suspension lift and 2" body lift with 33x13x18 DC FCIIs and they rub at full lock after trimming.

Guys, come one. I know that the vast majority of us aren't looking for 20" rims, but the guy has made up his mind on what he wants to do with his truck. He came here for some advice, not to be made fun of.

If you go to http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...11287_-1_52754 they have some tires for 20" rims

And if you decide you don't want to spend that much money for rubber to throw on those rims (trust me, it's a LOT more) you can always look at other wheel/tire options on that site.

IMHO, the rim should be about 1/2 the diameter of the tire - so you need to be running 4D's or bigger for 20's. Since 35's are the practical limit for IFS , that makes 17" or 18" about the biggest rim I would recommend. Many of the newer rock buggies are running 20" (and bigger) beadlocks to better handle the huge tires.

Note that everything said above about 20's also applies to wide rims (10" and wider).

Having sidewall bulge to protect the rims is critical offroad. Aside from getting scratched, it's just too easy to get the bead edge bent or mud/twigs in there and constantly be fighting flats.

BFG A/T's come in a 285x55r20 which would be about 32.5" tall, they are $350 each.

Otherwise, BFG KM2's come in a 37x12.50r20, at $525 ea

Nitto Mud Grapplers come in a 33x12.50r20, $325 ea.

Well, I already have 2 offroad toys: a jeep for rock crawling and a chevy pickup for the mud. My daily driver was a car but I needed more space so thats why I got the 4Runner. SO, I'm just wanting to make this look good and still be daily drivable. Yes, the 4Runner has 4x4 and I plan to use it, but not as hard core as I do my other vehicles. Probably simply use it for fishing/camping trips. I would go higher than 2" on suspension but from what I understand I'll be throwing CV joints left and right if I do so. I might end up in the long run doing a body lift, but for now it's just suspension. I think I will stick with the Terra Grappler 31's (i think it was like a 285/50R20) for right now but if I decide to just get 18's then it should open my options up a little more. 1999 4Runner offset range is from -6 to 20 and the Wheel Size range can be any where from 15x7 to 22x9.5 just to key some people in so yes certain rims will work with specific tires. Thanks guys for the info.

i would go with a 33x13.50 iroks for those 20 inch rims
