1992 toyota pickup aint ran in 1 yr
i have a 1992 toyota pickup that mechanics can't figure out what is wrong with it so i figured id bring it to yotatech!!!! what happened was i originally had the 3vz engine in it but the engine's 6th cylinder only had 40 lb compression so i was like 'ok ill just change the motor' well i did. i put a 3vze engine in it that ran like 6 months prior. well i dropped her down and she started n shut off. u can pump the gas and itll run. start naming parts. i think i changed about everything but the fuel pump but why would the fuel pump go out right when i change the motor. what else could be wrong? injectors, throttle body, tps, fuel pressure regulator, motor wiring harness, and even the fuel rails have been changed... please please help!

sounds kinda like cold start isnt shutting off and its causing the engine to act like its still running cold check it make sure theres no corrosion ntf with that 3.0 but have seen that on a 22re

what year did the new 3.0 come from? did you swap the engine harness over from your old 3.0 or use the one on it? what do you mean pump the gas? like you move the gas pedal? try this, jumper the fuel pump so it runs constant with key on. To do this open the diagnosis plug in the engine bay and using a paper clip or piece of wire jumper the 2 terminals that say B+ and FP. Then try starting. Also have you checked for any stored codes to the ecu? Might want to do that as well.
