Changing tire size - spare too?

I am looking to go from 265/65R17 to 265/70R17. Is it mandatory to buy a new spare tire also? Can you run 3 of the 265/70 and 1 of the 265/65 if you get a flat?

Thanks.

search around, there are huge debates on this. some will say absolutely no, some will say it doesn't matter if its just a temporary solution. ideally you should have a full size spare but with such a small difference in your sizes, you should be fine. if you had to run it, the front would be the best if you're driving around in 2wd.

You can but even that difference can cause drivetrain problems if used for too long...

Recommendation: buy 5 tires to match.
