I've got my older sister pretty much talked into buying a 4th gen used so I'm trying to find her a good deal. I don't know as much on them as the 2nd gens, but I've been reading a bunch. If you guys could give me some ideas on good price ranges as well as anything else you might think is important I would appreciate it. She's for sure on the 4x4 and locking rear diff, but anything else is up in the air on the options.....thanks again!!

Sorry, no OEM diff lock on the 4th gens.

On a 4th Gen you don't need a rear locking diff. The ATRAC works really well. You only need locking diffs if you are planning on serious offroading (read rock crawling), in most other situations ATRAC will do a real good job getting you through (just lock center diff).

interesting....I didn't know that they didn't offer a locking rear diff. on the 4th gens. I'm getting my brother in law into off roading a bit that's why I was looking for the locked rear diff, but do you think that ATRAC will be alright for mild offroad stuff? I checked out ebay, but wasn't sure what a good price was or not...

yes, the ATRAC is great for mild offroading.

oh, and if you see some on ebay that you like, post a link here and i'm sure we can all help you figure out what is or isn't a good deal.
