Lets just start with it's intended use, just to narrow it down. If you don't plan on using it for more serious trail duty, than a Pre-runner should suffice. Some even come with the locking rear diff. If you do, than you should look for a 4wd with the TRD "Off Road" package, which gives you skid plates, heavier duty shocks, and a rear locking differential . I think that only the TRD "Sport" package comes with the hood scoop, you get an LSD but no locker, and more street tuned Bilstein shocks.
So now it's time to think ahead and prioritize.

Be careful what billet grill you get. Most of those grills have small openings and they can reduce airflow through the radiator, A/C condenser, and transmission cooler.

The disturbing thing is that almost every billet grill I see has considerably smaller openings than stock, and those that have them may not know they could be creating a problem.

The bad part is that if you install a billet grill this time of year, it might not overheat right away due to cooler ambient temperatures. But do some slow speed off roading next summer on a hot day, or tow a loaded trailer on a hot summer day with the A/C on, etc., and you may find out too late that the billet grill doesn't flow enough air.

I've personally known of one person that installed a billet grill on his F150. He did it during the fall, and never had a problem with cooling until summer time. He couldn't figure out what was causing the occasional overheating problem until he finally took it to a mechanic, and the mechaninc told him to remove the grill.

Fortunately, he still had his old grill and he reinstalled it. Problem solved. He decided that billet grills are a waste of money and won't ever buy one again.

Personally, I think my factory grill looks just fine. But even if I didn't like the way it looks, I still don't think it's worth spending money on an appearance item that could cause problems down the road. Even if the radiator doesn't actually boil over, it could increase engine, transmission or A/C system heat enough to eventually cause failures. I would keep the factory grill.

Just thought I would throw that out as a word of caution.

I agree with william. I know a guy with a Dodge with a billit grill that overheated and even before that heard that billit grills may overheat your motor. I would not get one.

My Billet on my 06 opens up a huge hole in the front. The bars are 1/2" part and it opens up a lot of the front end that is closed by the stock grill. I think the 05 and up's look awesome with the billet. I'd definitely go for it. The TRD sport has the scooped hood. Make sure you drive one with and without it. They are really hard to see over the front of them compared to the older trucks and that hood scoop makes it even worse. TRD models have a different interior as well. The 6 speaker sound is also an option.
