They are definitely on the lot, I've seen several members on other boards who have already taken delivery.

Anybody looking to buy one new, be sure to check out Overstock.com or USAA pricing - no-haggle price that is generally at or below invoice.

Does TRUECar actually give you a price certificate to take a certified dealer, or does it just tell you the Invoice and True Market Value of the car?

I just picked up my '12 Tacoma a month or so back and love it. First time yota owner so i really can't compare a whole lot but my buddy has yotas going back to the 70's and they all run still so you can't beat that

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. I was, and still am, a little negative about it for several reasons. First, my old '94 Extra cab was undrivable with a warped head and a stuck valve so I priced out replacement parts and my labor at under $500. Instead, my wife insisted on getting a new truck. $500 vs $20,000. In the years since I bought the old one in '94, Toyota trucks have swollen up like a sick pup. So now the smallest equivalent to my old one is damn near as big as a "full size" truck and while they've probably gotten more fuel efficient too, the actual gas mileage is lower than my old one. One last complaint... since it's brand spanking new and shiny, I don't feel free to really use it as a *truck* - and my wife definitely doesn't want me to.

On the plus side, it's a lot better looking than my beat up '94 - we got the Majestic Red which is rather pretty. I guess the best part is all the safety features. The '94 didn't even have ABS while the 2012 has all that stuff someone posted earlier, including air bags just about every 6 inches (well, not quite, but still!).

In recent years I've described my '94's age this way "it's getting to the age where all the plastic parts are breaking... and it's mostly plastic parts!" Well, there's even more plastic on the new one. The whole, freakin' bed is plastic! Check back in another 18 years and we'll see how much of the '12 model is still in one piece.

funny... I wasn't really digging the redesigned front end of the new Tacos at first, but now I find myself wishing a new Tacoma shows up in the yard at work that's been rear-ended, as sad as that sounds, so I can try to buy the front clip and swap the parts onto my 06
