I bet hearing:
"Something just fell out of your truck. I wan't a divorce."
and you can't find your dog would be worse....

sorry, my mind just went elsewhere.

Reminds me when I came home and got off the plane from holidays and my friend met me with the words "I crashed your car."

That was a good day... still waiting on repairs, doubt she'll ever do them.

Hmmm...Do you mean the clutch of the fan, or what holds it up behind that?

I'm pretty sure it was the shroud that fell down and wrecked shop, b/c it is pretty much all gone. The only parts of it left are the bottom and the right side.

Better yet, I just found out that the fan and the shroud are pretty much salvage parts. Parts stores around here don't have them, so I'll have to go rip one out of a salvage yard.

Whats behind the pulleys that holds up the fan and pulleys. When the bearing or bracket fails it causes the fan to start wobbling until the fan hits something and then the rotational energy causes causes a mini explosion and takes other things with it. Some have even had damage to the hood.

They fail often enough for the aftermarket parts guys to make them:

Here's another guy that had the fan explode:
