this is what happens when you get old and bored

ok so my 4runner is a 1990 and it has the, yep you guessed it, 3.slow. havent driven it in a year or so but thought i would maybe find out what that rattling bearing flew to pieces noise was
so here are some pics, i'll take the heads off tomorrow, dam cam gear fricken bolts.....!!!!!!

i like all those wires there? and omg look at all those vacuum lines id be afraid to work on it

hi im from australia, iv noticed a lot of you run that airfilter, do you not have a lot of water crossings and stuff? we can run them we only run standard box with a snorkel

ummmm i use this one cause it came with the 4runner and i live in the desert, palm springs area

Oh, thank you....that's so much better. I thought my little monitor was going to explode....

That motor is very clean!

You said bearing.....did you have a crankcase bearing problem, or is from the timing assembly?

had a loud clinking noise in the engine, when it started i turned the engine off and let it sit forever, it was hopefull thinking, and i just got done with the teardown, #2 and #5 rod bearings where shot, but they didnt scare the crank, so time to take it all to the machine shop and see what they say. no bent rods and no blown up pistons, so im a head of the game i guess

I know! I actually like my 3.0, but the one thing I hate about it are all those damn vacuum lines.
