If you have your owner's manual, look in the index for "oil consumption" there is about a whole page that explains it and why you may not see it during city driving but will notice it more during highway driving. I will scan it and post it later for those that don't have it.

That's true about the highway driving, when I drove across country last summer I was going oil through much, much faster than in my usual around town driving.

I think my headgasket was starting to go at the time and maybe it was burning it and also my valve covers were leaking and I think either my rear main or oil cooler. Plus I was driving across Texas and Tennessee and it was really hot out
