I put a 7.5" Celica Supra LSD in the front of my 4runner and like it a lot. Here's the breakdown of what I found taking it apart: click me.

How do you like the LSD in the front in the snow and ice?
How is it in adverse conditions?
Do you keep one hub unlocked like the guy above?

I wouldn't keep the Hub unlocked with an LSD. I would only do this in snow and ice with a Lockright(or similar) or a Welded diff in the front.

It behaves perfectly fine in snow and ice - no loss of steering or sideways slides unless I get stupid with the skinny pedal (all bets would be off with any diff then anyways). It was thoroughly tested last winter throughout southwest Colorado and Utah. The e-locker was useless on ice (no surprise there) and would just send the rear end sliding in whatever direction gravity wanted to take it, which usually happened to be the side of the road. Honestly, I don't notice any bad side effects at all with it.

so i finally got around to installing my lsd into my 4runner, of course i got in a hurry and forgot to retightnen down the 4 main bolts that hold the diff in,http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...s/oops.gifwell ended up having to repull it all and fix my problems.... well all done and will be testing it this weekend...

So, how did the test go? Does the LSD still transfer power to the wheel on the ground if the other wheel is in the air? Can the supra or celica LSD be put in the front IFS diff?
