Glad to hear good news...
That's really cool you got your stuff back, Erock. Somebody broke my window (rear passenger triangle) last night and tried to take my truck too. I've been waiting for somebody to try, it's a sweet looking rig (2002 4Runner Sport Edition, black, on P265/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler AT/D2's).
Luckily, I had my removable face plate Kenwood stereo locked in the glove box and they didn't trash it. They took one of my backpacks full of fishing gear and my binocs, but luckily I didn't have my bike or other gear in the truck.
My CD holder was in the console, but I guess they didn't like jazz & gospel cause they left it alone.
They did screw with my ignition switch, though and I need to have fixed. I'm able to wiggle the key into the ignition but this ain't good long term.
Anybody know what ignition parts I may have to have replaced (coil, cylinder, switch)?
Bummer is, I've only had my rig for 2 months and was just getting ready to do some suspension mods (OME lift kit, lockers, bull bar & winch). I guess I need to invest in a decent alarm first.
Should I be looking at kill switch and/or battery disconnect switch options to prevent future trouble?
I really don't wanna lose my truck.
Any suggestions?
