Steering column electrical issue

Hey everyone,

My 92 pickup has this kind of wierd issue (surprise, surprise) The "Fast" setting on my windshield wipers, the Windshield washer fluid motors, and my horn, will only work of the column is tilted all the way down. If that doesn't sound like one of those "Toyota" things, I don't know what is.

What do i do about it? I haven't actually gone under there and really checked stuff out. It seems like there's a loose connection or contact point somewhere in there, but I dunno what would affect all three of those things. This happened to anyone before?

Thanks,
Andrew

I'd pull the wheel off and check it out. You should be able to get access to them with the wheel removed.

There are 4 screws on the underside of the column cover. remove these screws and it will give you access to the combo switch wiring. Sounds like a harness connector is pulled too tight, loosing connection when you tilt up, and barely making connection otherwise.
