Resale value with a new engine

Looking at a 4runner with a new engine --

Seems a bit high, but wanted to check here on what a very good condition 88 4runner with a new engine should fetch?

I have been watching ebay for prices but those are very eratic.

Under 5K?

Thanks

call a insurance company and ask them how much they would pay out on it if it where to get totaled out in a accident.

well, a good condition, non-running 4runner could fetch between 600-1500 depending on who is buying it and for what purpose....
... and add another 1000 for an engine and maybe another 500 if you have receipts for all work done since the engine went in...
so, oh, 1600-3000?
good tires (more than half tread left) add 200
22re- add 250
3vze- no change

I bought a '91 with a rebuild done by Toyota 8K before I bought it, 3VZE done under the head gasket recall, they good willed it for the guy. The rest had 196K on it, it had brand new BFG All Terrain TA's on it...I paid $2,400.

The tires alone were $150 each, so I figured I really paid $1,800 for it.
