Rear Tow Hook for 94 4runner

Folks,
With a stock bumper and no receiver hitch, what are my options for a rear tow hook setup on my Son's 4runner?

Do I have any options without adding a hitch?

Thanks,
Mike

Bolt it to the frame.

Edit: I guess I should ask what you're trying to get out of it. Are you wanting to just add a hook like on the front for getting pulled out if stuck?

Red face

look what you need to attach to two of the bolts that hold the bumper then drop down and attach your tow hooks

I went through the same thing not wanting a receiver hanging out the back just for a recovery point. But after staring at my truck it was my only option, I could have also bought an aftermarket bumper with hooks/receiver built in but I just bought a brand new bumper and it just wasn't practical for what I use my truck for. In the end the receiver isn't bad, so I'm thinking it's either a receiver or a custom bumper.

Kinda of my thought process as well. I thought I'd ask the question anyway, just in case somebody had one of those brilliant solutions.

Thanks,
Mike

For proper/permanent solutions you'd really have either install a tow hitch, an aftermarket bumper with integrated recovery/tow hitch, or attach recovery points to the frame. If its the once in a while emergency hitch point needed - then wrap tow strap around frame rail or even around the axle.
