Rear Main Seal
I have an 89 pickup. I put in a reman'd motor last summer. I graduated from college in May and drove 750 miles home from college. In the process my rear main seal crapped the bed on me and now I need to replace it. Would you guys reccommend that I just replace the seal or use something like Auto-RX for a quick fix. I would really hate to pull the motor or tranny as I don't have a place to do it right now. I plan on buying a new truck within the next year and making this my full time wheeling truck but it is a DD right now. Any comments or reccommendations?

i would replace it, and make sure you put some grease on the new one. i would rather replace the rear main seal than a t-chain any day. might want to look real good at the clutch, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. your right there.

I knew that would have been the best thing to do. It sucks because the clutch and seal are all brand new from last summer. I just moved into a new apt. and don't really have a place to work on my truck, that's the only thing.
