So last month I put in a new clutch on my 3.slow and thought I should change the clutch fluid cuz the old stuff was lookin really narsty. Started to bleed the system and is felt normal up to the point that when I had my bud hold the clutch peddle all the way down while I close the bleeder screw. He let go and I hopped in and the peddle is supper stiff. Didn't want to deal with it during the cold ass winter days but now it's starting to be in the 40s and want to salv this problem. What do you guys think bad cmc or sc?

Just how hard is it??

Does it take all your effort to push the pedal??

Only having the seat belt on allows you to push the pedal?? Other wise the pedal lifts you off the seat.

If you only bleed the system this might be how the normal feel is with new fluid .

Just what did you use for fluid ??

Did you manage to kink or crush a line??

I always change the hydraulics with a new clutch.

If your changing do both and go Aisin Parts to many failures with the poor quality other brands.

I drove my buds 93 to feel the clutch and his is way softer easier to depress. My clutch takes a a good portion of my straight to push in like if i needed to rock my truck cuz I'm stuck or in stop and go traffic my leg pretty much gives out and I mountain bike so I've strong muscles so that's how stiff it is not like pushing me out of my seat it's like depressing the break peddle when the truck is off that one push on the breaks before the peddle is completely solid.

What kind of clutch and pressure plate did you install? OEM equivalent or a HD version?

Oem pressure plate and disk and throw out bearing

So this really started with the install of the new clutch??

The changing of the fluid was just the last operation

You did compare the old clutch parts with the new??

Just what brand?? Possible something boxed wrong if the part numbers are correct.

Just a thought. Could something be blocking the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder such that it is very hard to force fluid through it? If that were the case, you should probably notice slow movement of the pedal with steady moderate pressure.

Sorry I sometimes right my posts ass backwards but I got Napa pressure plate and pad cuz that's what the old ones were And I really like them And I for got the name but a high end oem throw out bearing but every thing worked like it suppose to until I bleed the system after that the pedal got stiff. I looked at the lines and the cmc and I forgot the name of the other part they looked good but they are original and the line looked fine.

There still could be some debris blocking the line. You might want to disconnect the line at the slave cylinder and check the flow.

Okay the more I'll give that a try but I also mite just replace slave and master cylinder since its original

I wonder if the clutch fork might be twisted or bent enough causing it to hang up.

Though one would also think it would be just as hung up on releasing .

Broken clutch bracket flexed enough putting pressure on the Master Cylinder Rod

Comes down to either a fluid blockage or a mechanical binding.
