I've been keeping track of it since 2/06 on fueleconomy.gov
96 4runner, stock height, 16" Michelin LTX M/S, deckplate, 173,384 miles
Average since '06: 18mpg
Last: 19mpg
Best was in the Colorado mountains: 22.2mpg
We have 10% ethanol here.
Tire pressure makes a relatively big difference in the numbers.

Hey Guys,
VERY, prelimanary mpg figures; 3 cold starts, about 35% city, the rest @55-60 miles per hour. Over 3 days.
88 miles, on 3.72 gals, = 23.65 mpg. same pump, same fill method.
This is with out any ECM mods, or EGR, believe it or not, EGR is good for MPG's. I've also got a few tricks Myself. We'll see.
I'ts VERY early, in the mpg game. But it is a good sign.

HEAVY HEAVY 4Runner with 3VZE, manual tranny, 4.88's and 33x10.50 Dunlop RVXT at ~5000 ft altitude.
Last three tanks after fixing the O2 sensor wire:
19.9 MPG
16.7 MPG
20.5 MPG

4Runner in the sig, some mods but nothing that really matters to the mileage much - around 15.85 mpg highway & around 15 mpg city....maybe a little under.

1989 Toyota 4runner
22re with EB cam. 31 x10.5 r 15. Stock gears (5 speed). K&N intake (carb approved) Flowmaster exhaust. Top end rebuilt recently. New HG. 17.2 MPG.
That was with check engine light on (o2 sensor faulty).
Replaced o2 sensor... will repost later on!.

'91 V6' Runner. OEM, meaning no "mods" to all you manly men!
Sh** I get around 14-15 mpg city/highway. I drive very conservatively, i.e., not like a the normal leadfeet in this area. It sucks, but I don't think anything is wrong, it just guzzles. So be it. If I remember correctly, I didn't buy it 'cause it got great mpg.

And about all this Canada vs America crap, who cares. I use both every day and think it's funny people are so patriotic towards their measurment systems.
I wonder if Americans even know they use metric when they substitute writing out out the zeros in thousand for the metric abbreaviation "K"

Oh how I love the gas mileage threads.. I am constantly complaining about my mileage, to the point where i'm thinking about selling my 3.fail in lieu of a 22re...
95 4Runner SRV V6 auto - all stock except K&N Cold Air Intake.
250km / tank (65L) city. 9.00 mpg
350km / tank highway. 12.65 mpg
I just read the whole thread and this is among the worst I've seen and its a stock ride!!! Hopefully replacing plugs/wires/o2/fuel filter will help.. otherwise I'll have to give it up. Feel free to PM me any other advice...

With my 1995 4Runner - V6, 5 speed, stock gears and heavy ass bumpers and rock sliders I get a consistent 16 in the city. But it bumps up to an even 20 MPG on the highway. Makes a real difference once the truck is rolling.

OMG i got 18 MPG today! 147 miles on the trip, with my bigger tires it calculates out to 161 miles (this is actual comparrison with a GPS, not an online calculator). 8.9 gallons fillup. i put my tires at 40 psi in the front and 45 rear. normally I run around 35 psi all the way around but i work at a tire center and i read a publication saying that if you go from P metric tire (P225/75R15) to an LT metric tire you must increase you tire pressure 11 PSI to keep the same weight ratings, and always a minimum of 35 PSI. so ya, 18 MPG, sweet! normally i get 10-14
