want to the same thing, maybe not as nice, but want to take mine off. how do you get it off. the valve cover gaskets need replacing too so it is a necessary move.

i doubt you could get clear to stick to it after it has been polished that fine. your best bet would be to just maintain it with wax.

Yeah ill just touch it up when I feel like doing something.

92 toy- its pretty easy to get off, just disconnect all the vcuum lines and egr and then there are only 6-8 long bolts holding it to the lower manifold. If you have any questions pm me

I know on yotatech I saw a very good step-by-step with pictures instruction of how to access the valve covers. I've searched but I can't find it. I'm sure it has how to take that off at the beginning. If anybody could find that link I'd appreciate it. it was very detailed. What about aluminum paint....I saw SUMMIT had some?

Idk about paint. It might look good, I just like the look of polished metal. There is also a fsm on here, I downloaded it to a memory stick and printed it out lol

you printed out 1500+ pages??? that would take me like 2 weeks and tons of ink on my printer. I keep it as a file on my desktop and click through it.

I couldn't believe what I found behind it. Its like thick, moist brownie residue stuck to the pan. Comes off with the finger but I want to spray some throttle body cleaner in there and see metal again. Is this a good idea?
A lot of members have used Seafoam cleaner to clean the TB and intake manifold in place on the engine with great results, there are several threads here about it try a search for that.

Here's the write-up I was talking about...............https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/v...95/index2.html

Now all I need is the courage to do it. Broke a bolt on my 92 when I was taking apart my thermostat housing and that in itself became a project and added 3 days of work......had a neighbor drill it out and used a helicoil to fix it.....it's all good now, just don't want to have to go through that again!!!
