Odd Question About My truck
so i am using some aircraft remover on my truck, is the grey color the bare metal? or is it primer? it does not react to the aircraft remover or paint stripper.
here are a few pictures.. the shiny part is the part i have sanded..is it just shiny becuz of the sand paper? and if you look closely, you can see the metal, grey and then brown original paint. idk. im confused.
any input would be greatly appreciated...

What exactly are you trying to do??
It looks like primer to me
In the second picture in the upper left hand corner that is bare metal. The pic were you have feathered out the paint shows the layers. Paint, Primer, metal.
Keep the primer on unless you need to do body work. It will save you time. When you have everything golden and ready to shoot hiit it with fill primer and paint it.

thank you for such helpful replies and links. i think im going to be keeping that layer of primer. and just sand it a bit...
i also forgot to mention. that when the original brown paint comes up. its is grey on the back side of it.... soooo.. im just gna leave that primer and sand it up a bit.

I suppose it really depends on what kind of paint and finish and look you are after. If you sand it with 220 grit then 320 grit and it sands out just right you'll have a prepared surface for just about any paint.
