Anyone know what the stock offset is for a 92 4Runner's stock wheels? I want to buy wheels but don't want them to have that deep of a dish nor stick out too far past my fenders.

Hey HiJacker: just pop off your rim and run a straight edge across your rim and measure to the rear of the rim...

i can't remember but could be 3.75-4.5"..or call a tire shop, they have a book

I know stock backspacing is 4.75 if I'm not mistaken but I'm looking for offset.

tire sizes are illegal in washington? never heard of tires being illegal unless you had no mudflaps.

lol the local cop in my town hates lifted trucks. i got pulled over first day i bought my runner pulling into town and he didnt write me up. first day i bought my 35s he pulled me over again told me my mud flaps were to short.

and the cop took a penny dropped it from my fender well down and if it hits my tires i need bigger fenders i just laughed as he did it. i didnt get a ticket from him yet. my buddy had a chevy that he had huge chevy mud flaps and they were stil to short and he had a foot drop bumpers just to be legal. lol so i dont really wanna go any wider unless i sas it.

I got the same rims.
I got mine with 3.75" backspacing.
I figure if I ever want to go up in tire diameter or width, I'm covered. I'm running 33 x 12.5 tires. If I bought a skinnier rim, I would be more likely to blow a bead with a larger tire (width or diameter).
I'm sure I will want to go up to 35" tires or larger in the future.
But first, I need fender flares and mudflaps. My truck is too slow to outrun anyone if they decide to chase me down after I shower their car in rocks / gravel. Not to mention those rocks and gravel are tough on the body panels.

its not illegal in oregon or washington, as long as you have fenderflares that cover all the tire or at least only have 1 in of tire sticking out from the body, and you have to have mud flaps 10in from the ground and has to cover the width of the tire. I know cuz i have been with people 3 times that got pulled over bout tires lol ... you can run 50 in tires long as everythign is in spec. hahaha

country hick my dad is running 35x14.5 and we run up to washington alllll the time we have friends that live up in vancouver and we wheel in washougal never been stopped. lol

for fun,
a 15" wide rim with 7.5" backspacing would have 0" offset
a 10" wide rim with 5.0" backspacing would have 0" offset
a 5" wide rim with 2.5" backspacing would have 0" offset

offset is the relation between the hub surface and the centerline of the rim: if the backspacing is 1/2 of the rim width, the offset is 0.
backspacing is the relation between the hub surface and the innermost part of the rim

Man what a pain in the butt! Makes me glad I live in New Mexico, AKA the old west where the laws are a good 10 years behind the rest of the country.

your tires stick out 2" past your flares!?!? damn lmao mine stick out..maybee 1/2" or so 31x10.50 on 15x8 3.75BS outlaw II knockoffs, and only stick out about an 1" on the runner, 33x12.50 on i think 15x8 3.75BS

and we don't have to have flares around here lol, theres a guy running 33x14.50 boggers on 2.5" backspaced rims on a chevy, his tires stick out like 5" per side lmao

Looks KILLER!!
As for cops and laws I have been pulled over 3 times in the past four months for no mudflaps and "your truck looks similar to a truck that was stolen last night."
oh well.
