My recovery #2 (slid off road!)
Scroll down for pics. Snowy as h3ll, no traction in the front...and I locked up the tires (realize this was a mistake!) and slid off the road. It was in the mountains and the embankment was as steep as h3ll. Took 2 hours to finally get out...and I need a new strap (ripped a hole in the end ) Its crazy...I consider myself VERY lucky...

Also..he needs to NOT slam on the brakes so they lock up..but pump the brakes. or when they DO luck up, get off the brake, quick....its always better to have the tires turning.

I had swampers in the rear. And was totally unexpected. After that I filled up the bed with snow and aired down which helped. I wasn't speeding per say, I was going to fast for the conditions. I don't want to screw up my truck, I just need to learn how to get myself unstuck pics are uploading on photobucket as we speak, and there are 20 total. LOL

in an 2wd weight makes an big differance, not so much in an 4x4, and snow chains help when driving on snow covered roads, i hardly ever use them but i think 91 needs all the help he can get. and yes let off the breaks when they lock up and re-apply avoid the instinct to slam the breaks down and hold them

Were the roads SNOWY or ICY?...
Chains help with snow and a little on ice. studs work good on ice and don't really do anything in snow.
Yes, weight in the back helps, but you don't need a whole lot.
hm... I dont know why I quoted that....
Also, don't air down tooooo much or your traction will decrease even more. a little can help.
