misfire/rough running 22re
so my truck recently has started running pretty crappy, hard starting (i got to crank for 5 or so seconds and pump the gas when i feel a fire, chugs for awhile on about 2 cylinders until the rpm slowly climbs up), misfiring on 2 cyl's so really low idle.
i pulled the cap, its new and the rotor button too so they were good and i cleaned all the plugs.
i tried finding the bad cylinders, holdin at a high idle and pulling the wires off, but i couldnt really tell a drop in rpm if any. when i quickly put the wire back on it doesnt really pick up the rpm either. this happens on all the plugs.
with the engine off key on, i can hear air coming out of i think around the fuel rail, i cant really fit my hand back in there too find a leak so im not sure exactly what its coming out of. when i turn the key off it stops. could there be a leaking o ring in the rail or seal maybe and i have leaking fuel pressure?
also about a week ago i went wheelin and got in some water i know got in the engine a little bit but was running normal after i ran her for a bit and cleaned it out. so could water be an issue in the fuel possibly?
i'd hate to try and pull that rail out it looks like a pain in the ass with the intake around it and all hoses, wires and . does anyone know a good way to find a leak like i hear?

Wow, there's lots of possibilities here. I would say the first thing to check is the fuel. Water in the fuel will definately give you problems.
The air leak sounds odd. Unless the fuel pump is pumping air, (it would likely be toast by now) there's nothing that should leak air. There is a vent line for the fuel tank, but that shouldn't be pressurized or sucking air.
Have you checked all the basics like compression, ignition timing, etc.?
Good luck and keep us posted.

ok thank you. i pulled the cover off my MAF and to my dismay there was definitely evidence of water and dirt inside. i ran the truck with the maf off and it fired good on all four so im pretty sure i have narrowed it down to that, my distributor rotor had a lil rust spots on it and the electronic piece inside looked a lil dirty so i wanted to trade that out too
