Is the ISR mod a good or bad idea

PVC pipe wont' break down and become brittle. the worst that'll happen is that it'll get soft and mushy if it gets too hot.
check out www.jblmk3.com <- john lunsford has been using PVC piping for his intercooler pipes for a long, long time on his 400+rwhp 7mgte.
(mandrel bent pipes would be better IMO, but i'm just pointing out that the PVC isn't bad)

This is not regular PVC I used. It is schedule 80. It's made to last for eons buried under the dirt. Go ahead...get some and try breaking it. It takes alot. My point was that there was no extra step for bending and it won't rust. And the temps in that tube are not that hot that it would break down soon and will never melt. It is made to withstand residual heat (within reason) from electrical high powered wiring. One problem I've heard from several muffler/exhaust shops was people ran into rust issues using metal in there set ups. Ya'll do what you want, though. It ain't my motor...hehe!

I bought my truck with the silencer already removed and it took until reading this thread to figure out that the shiny metal pipe behind my MAF is the result of an ISR mod
so thats why its noisy
