I wonder about these crazy things on eBay. They always have these "brand new" hopped up motors with just a few hundred miles on them. Personally, if I blew all that bank for a new V8 I would put at least 5 digits on that thing before I sold it. Makes me think something went "wrong"
i think the same thing. what really gets me is that even a ford 302 or chevy 305 in bone stock form would be way more than enough power for a toyota, yet everybody always insists on building it like it's going in a 6000lb rig or a race car.

although, if i was putting in a V8 motor in a toy, it'd probably be a 302 or something similar, with a short stroke. reason being, with our small axles, high revving horsepower won't break as many parts as something that puts out 400lbs of torque at 1700RPMs. that's how our trucks can survive behind a hopped up supra engine.

Tires that big make everything too easy.....thats the kind of thing that they would have in the Four Wheeler Challenge or whatever. they take and sup up on these obstacles.

In my opinion, a properly equiped truck on 35s, maybe 37s, can handle just about anything in North America, perhaps even broader than that. Of course thats with the exception of bodies of water....and man made obstacles.
