I know that you started this thread over a year ago and from the picture you posted the other day there now seems to be an engine under the hood of your truck, but if you are still toying with the idea of a turbo engine, here's a few things to consider.
Problem #1.
The Ct20 turbo on the 22rte is prone to cracking between the exhaust compressor wheel housing and the wastegate. Remove the exhaust elbow and carefully inspect your ct20.
Problem #2
22RTe heads have larger compression chambers (83cc) than 22re heads, so there is less metal between the valve seats and the water jackets, less metal means cracking. (mine was cracked between #1 exhaust and the water jacket, you could see it just back of the #1 cam journal.) Before you use this head have it dye tested.
Problem #3
If you go with a 22re for now be careful when matching / mixing parts from different years. 22re's from 85 to mid 88 had low impedence injectors and a solenoid resistor in the harness, mid 88 to 94-95 have high impedence injectors and no solenoid resistor, so make sure that you get the harness, injectors and ECU from the same vehicle.
Problem #4
The fuel maps in a 22rte ECU are for a turbo engine, the injectors are 295cc, this is way too much fuel for a naturally aspirated 22re. I'm not saying this combination won't run, it won't run right, so use a 22re ECU and 22re injectors in a 22re engine.

A 22re block with 22rte pistons and 22re heads makes a good turbo motor. I can't say that personally yet as my engine is still on the engine stand, but Engbuilder knows what he is talking about and he says that this is a good combo. The 7M-gte ct26 turbo is a pretty easy upgrade for the 22rte. All that is involved is reclocking the turbo intake housing, custom oil feed and drain lines and custom cooling lines. Generally tapping into an oil jacket is not a good idea. Unless by chance the block was cast with extra metal in the spot you choose there may not be enough metal to tap or accept a fitting. An easier way is to "T" the oil pressure sensor fitting (available at Summit racing). Also the 22rte block has another access to the oil passages in the block under the passengers side motor mount. There is a threaded plug that can be removed and a 90 degree fitting installed, I'm not sure if the 22re block has this or not. Oil return line is generally a 1/2 or 5/8" fitting welded into the oil pan. It must be a straight run with no restrictions so that the hot oil will drain away from the turbo bearings.
Lastly:
If you really want to learn about these engines join http://www.22rte-trucks.com/simplemachinesforum/ The guys there have spent alot of time, effort and money learning what does and what doesn't work with these engines. They have paved the way so that you and I don't have to guess about what will work.
