I just got my 33s put on yesterday. Fastest I've gone so far is 55 speedo, I'm guessing about 60 actual. Flat ground, 2100 rpm.

95 4Runner, 3.0 and 4.88s, btw.

im running 4.88s and 285 75 16s ( 33s) i like the set up nice cruising rpms but still have plenty in reserve.

your problem

look under the dash at the back of your gas pedal ill bet that between that end and the accelorator cable end at the throttlebody you have tooooooo much slack in the cable.
I DID. fixed all me "poor acceloraction problems"
there is a rubber boot on the backside of the gas pedal that broke on mine and would give the pedal too much slack . i removed it and pulled the line tight at the trottlebody.
as for the 488 gear code, it is g144

g214 = 6.667 according to http://www.off-road.com/trucks4x4/ar....jsp?id=274535
Lol. you are correct. I made that mistake. I look at that same site to verify gear codes. I have mostly memorized them, but I guess I mistyped

Thanks swaycleveland !!
I checked out that cable and sure enough I had between a 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch of slack in that cable before my pedal even pulled it tight. I put a spacer in to take up the slack and now I can chirp my 33's on take off.
