Flooded my motor

Went wheeling today with a few guys from work. It was me (Hliux Surf) and then another Surf, a Suzuki Jimny, Mitsu. Pajero Jr, and a Mitsu Delica (4x4 van)

Were all having a good time, climbing hills and going through some goo dmud puddles. Well I go through the main puddle, and if you go too far right, you'll need alott more ground clearance then we all had. Well sure enough, my Surf slides over to the right, and somehow, the tube connected to the air box fell down, and sucked up some of the water

So we pull it out of the hole, and pull the plugs and crank it, 3 different times. We got it to run twice, but it wouldn't stay running. I bought new plugs and I need just one new wire, do you think it will run?

BTW its a 3Y-E 4 cyl.

Be sure to check ALL the oil - tranny, diffs - everything. Water/mud that deep, all bets are off as to where it got into...Also, probably want to run some fuel treatment/water dispersant in the gas for at least this tank and the next.

I didnt get deep, the water wasnt even up to my running boards (stock suspension) the air tube just sucked a good amount of water from the splash.

MudFreak, that same thing happened to me too. I had cut a hole in my filterbox...the truck slid off the water crossing and ended up submerging the whole right side of my truck. My box was underwater and sucked in lots of it. I managed to drive it out, and then cranked the truck over about 20 times thus spitting water out my exhaust for awhile. I drove it out of there and back home. Thank god it's a yota.....it'll live for a long time to come. You'll be fine so long as you replace ALL fluids...tranny/oil/powersteering/axles/xfer case/etc.
